The second meeting of the CT Luso project, which took place online on October 2, focused on the training programme aimed at building capacity in the area of biomedical research and clinical trials. Applications open on 15 October.

The CT-Luso Project meeting began with Professor Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, the project's coordinator, officially opening the proceedings. Work Package 4 (WP4) related to the training programme that aims to train graduates from various areas, with a broad and interdisciplinary nature, was one of the main topics discussed. Esperança Sevene, from the National Health Bioethics Committee (CNBS), presented the call for proposals, while project consultant Maria Alexandra Ribeiro detailed the training plan.

The progress of Work Packages 3 was also reviewed, with Carla Barbosa, from the Biomedical Law Centre, explaining the steps that have already been taken in this working group. WP3 aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the legislative and institutional reality of the Portuguese-speaking countries involved in the project.

The meeting was closed by Helder Mota Filipe, president of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Association, and Professor Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, who emphasised the importance of the next steps in implementing the project. During the event, the new Project Manager, Catarina Sobrinho, was also introduced.
