The Angolan Embassy in Portugal received a delegation from CT Luso in Lisbon on October 31, aiming to strengthen the partnership within this project, which seeks to promote training and cooperation in the field of research and clinical trials in Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP).
During the meeting, Secretary-General Ricardo Santos and CT-Luso Project Manager Catarina Sobrinho highlighted the impact of the previous project focused on ethical and regulatory capacity building in the PALOP, called BERC-Luso, which established a solid foundation for CT-Luso. Between 2018 and 2022, 311 activities and more than 172 hours of training were conducted, benefiting 3,848 professionals from diverse backgrounds.
The new CT-Luso Project aims to expand these results and will have the support of the Embassy of Angola, facilitating the involvement of Angolan health professionals and other communities interested in clinical trials. Present at the meeting were Counselor Dionísia Demba, Counselor Marcelino Félix, and the Head of the Health Sector at the Embassy, João José Bastos dos Santos, who praised CT-Luso's objectives and expressed great enthusiasm for strengthening this partnership.
