The 5th meeting of the CT-Luso, which took place on 8 January, highlighted significant progress within the scope of the project and referred to participation in future events.

Representing the Coimbra Biomedical Centre, Carla Barbosa announced that a legislative dossier and organisational charts describing the relationship between National Regulatory Authorities and Research Ethics Committees will be completed by February 2025. The main objective is to identify gaps in the legislation of various Portuguese-speaking countries, based on the survey already carried out, and to propose contributions in line with international guidelines.

The coordinator of the CT Luso, Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, then analysed the first module of the Training Programme, highlighting the pedagogical strategies adopted and the success of the sessions.

Project consultant Maria Alexandra Ribeiro introduced the second module, entitled ‘Research Integrity and Good Clinical Practice Requirements’, which will begin on 9 January 2025 and will be taught by herself.

Participation in an international event

The meeting also highlighted the first participation in an international event by CT-Luso, which will present a poster at the 5th European Conference on Pharmaceutics, which will take place on 24 and 25 March 2025 in Porto. Developed by the Project Coordination and the Biomedical Law Centre of the University of Coimbra, the poster will summarise the project. The meeting demonstrated the continued progress of CT-Luso, reinforcing the commitment to the project.
