The Training Program of the CT Luso project, titled “Ethical and Legal Requirements for the Development of Scientific and Clinical Research,” is ongoing. Throughout March, the fourth module, focusing on “Public Health Issues and Infectious Diseases,” featured the participation of various trainers, including specialists from the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA).
On March 6, Ana Paula Rodrigues, a Public Health physician from INSA’s Department of Epidemiology, addressed the ethical, legal, and political aspects of public health, as well as the fundamentals and strategies for action and planning in this field.
On March 13, Maria João Alves, coordinator of the National Vector Surveillance Network (REVIVE) at INSA, presented the impact of infectious diseases and vectors on society. The session highlighted the importance of surveillance and the control of these agents in protecting public health.
On March 20, Ana Rodrigues, a physician and Professor of Rheumatology and Epidemiology at Nova Medical School (NMS), delved into the topic of epidemiology and research, presenting key concepts such as the social determinants of health, types of studies, and research questions.
The month concludes with sessions on March 25 and 27, led by Professor Emília Ribeiro (NMS), focusing on research methods in health.
