CT-Luso Presents Lusophone Symposium and Prepares Final Phase of Training
The 9th coordination meeting of the CT-Luso Project, held online on May 7, 2025, featured the presentation of the programme and communication strategy for the upcoming Lusophone International Symposium "Regulatory and Procedural Harmonisation for Clinical Trials in Lusophone Countries: Is it Possible?", scheduled for September 25.
Following the opening of the session by CT-Luso coordinator Maria do Céu Patrão Neves and the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting, the new legal expert from São Tomé and Príncipe, Dr. Neidyne Afonso, recently integrated into the project, was introduced to the partners.
The central focus of the meeting was the preliminary programme of the Lusophone International Symposium, with space given for comments and suggestions from the five participating African countries.
CT-Luso’s communication advisor, Ana Sofia Calaça, presented the strategy to strengthen the project’s presence on LinkedIn, encouraging active participation from all partners in promoting the initiative through their social networks, professional contacts, and institutions.
Within the training programme, Maria do Céu Patrão Neves noted that the fifth training module, which ended on May 6, was dedicated to biobanks and responsible research involving human subjects, fauna, flora, and patentable innovation. She also announced that the sixth and final module would begin on May 8, focused on Regulatory Affairs and coordinated by the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon.
Beatriz Lima, Director of the Faculty, then gave a brief overview of Module 6, which will include contributions from several lecturers from the university and INFARMED. The module will conclude on June 3, 2025, with a workshop on International Regulatory Systems.
The next project meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2025.
