25-09-2025 | Lusophone International Symposium Paves the Way for Regulatory Harmonization of Clinical Trials
The Lusophone International Symposium “Regulatory and Procedural Harmonisation for Clinical Trials: Is it Possible?” took place on 25 September at the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society in Lisbon, gathering 110 participants on site and 120 online. The initiative marked the first anniversary of the CT-Luso project – Ethical and Regulatory Capacity Building in the PALOP – funded by the European Union under the EDCTP3 programme. The project aims to align regulatory and ethical processes in clinical research across Portuguese-speaking African countries.

24-09-2025 | Lusophone International Workshop on Regulatory Harmonisation for Clinical Trials
The “Lusophone International Workshop: Building Regulatory and Procedural Harmonisation for Clinical Trials” took place on September 24 at the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society in Lisbon. The event brought together legal experts, representatives of regulatory authorities and ethics committees from Portuguese-speaking countries (PALOP), a total of 15 specialist professionals, with the aim of promoting legislative and procedural convergence in the field of clinical trials.

31-08-2025 | CT-Luso Poster Featured at the FIP World Congress
At the 83rd World Congress of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), held in Copenhagen from August 31 to September 3, CT-Luso presented a poster showcasing the results of a legislative analysis on biomedical research and clinical trials in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe, addressing the framework of the National Regulatory Authorities and Ethics Committees of each country.

CT-Luso organized a Round Table on “The Importance of Conducting Clinical Trials for the Development of Countries,” held in Maputo, Mozambique, on April 4. The session’s objectives were presented by Esperança Sevene, President of the National Bioethics Committee for Health (Mozambique), and Helder Mota Filipe, President of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society.
