On June 17, the CT-Luso coordination organized a video conference meeting with jurists from the different partner countries that are part of the project: Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Portugal.
CT-Luso will begin with work package 3, led by the Centro de Direito Biomédico (Center for Biomedical Law), which concerns the analysis of legislative and institutional gaps, recommendations for scientific research policies and implementation of public policies.
Some of the jurists in this project also participated in the BERC-Luso project, which took place between 2018 and 2022, while others are starting this journey for the first time. This meeting took place since the coordination considered that, before the actual start of the CT-Luso project, it would be crucial to have a moment to present greetings, welcome new partners, contextualize the project, and align objectives and expectations.
One of the essential pillars of the project is the construction of a robust ethical-legal framework, following good international practices, to make Portuguese-speaking countries an attractive pole for the development of clinical trials and the creation of a scientific community.
