The Presidency of the Republic has granted its High Patronage to the International Lusophone Symposium ‘Lusophone regulatory and procedural harmonisation for clinical trials: is it possible?’, which will take place on 25 September 2025 at the headquarters of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society in Lisbon.
The granting of High Patronage by the President of the Republic is a testament to the institutional recognition of the importance of this international event organised by CT Luso and its role in promoting research and clinical trials in Lusophone countries.
The symposium is a strategic initiative dedicated to ethical and regulatory training in the area of clinical trials in the Portuguese-speaking world. The event will bring together institutional representatives from Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe, with the aim of promoting the sharing of good practices and discussing the feasibility of greater harmonisation of regulatory procedures
between these countries.
One of the highlights of the programme will be a round table with the ambassadors of Portuguese-speaking countries accredited in Lisbon, which will focus on cooperation strategies and measures to enhance the attractiveness of conducting clinical trials
in the Portuguese-speaking world.
Participation in the event is free of charge, subject to prior registration, and it will be possible to follow the proceedings remotely via streaming, with access reserved for Portuguese-speaking African countries.
